Fresh air. Exercise. Spending time in nature. Biking, running, walking, hiking, snowshoeing, exploring… Each of Colorado’s seasons has something new to offer.
We love the great outdoors. We don’t love spending hours in traffic to get there. That’s why we live here. Terrain is located on 1,185 acres of natural splendor, tucked away in the small valley that follows McMurdo Gulch. Nearly half of this land is reserved for parks, open space and the preservation of historical markers. So all we have to do to enjoy the great Colorado outdoors is step outside our front door.
Wild Oak is a swath of protected natural open space that stretches from the edges of the residential area of Terrain all the way to the northern boundaries of our land. Wide, paved trails wind their way through diverse landforms, rugged outcroppings and native vegetation of Wild Oak. Along the way, explorers will discover hidden vistas, places ideal for observing local wildlife and historic landmarks, such as the 1930s-era Civilian Conservation Corps campsite.
The Colorado Front Range Trail is a large paved trail system that will eventually stretch from the Wyoming border all the way to New Mexico. And Terrain sits right in the middle of it. That means that our own trail network not only connects our entire community – we also have ready access to trailheads at Hidden Mesa Open Space, Gateway Open Space and the Woodlands Bowl Open Space.
Terrain’s network of trails* winds through each unique neighborhood, connecting us to each other, a variety of parks, our clubhouse and pool, and even our local schools. The network was designed to tell the story of the land and includes a variety of experiences that showcase our unique geology, natural habitat and history. Children and adults can explore a ‘story’ trail that leads to hidden vistas, historic sites and places to observe wildlife.
Access to so much natural space is one of our favorite things about living in Terrain. Because what’s the point of living in Colorado if you can’t get outside?
