Castle Rock is one of the best places to live in Colorado. This sophisticated midpoint between Denver and Colorado Springs is an outdoor lover’s dream and a shopper’s paradise. Here is our modest list of the top five reasons that Terrain residents are in luck to be close to Castle Rock.
#1. The History. Since the 1860’s Castle Rock has been a booming part of Colorado’s cultural landscape and economy. Settlers came to claim their land—available through the Homestead Act of 1864—and within a decade the railway went straight through town and to the states beyond. The rest is, well, history.
#2. The Shopping. Seriously, the shopping in Castle Rock can’t be beat. The outlets provide quality goods at bargain prices, and the local boutiques offer unique gifts, decor, and much more. Only 5 minutes down the road, Terrain residents can make a day of it and take advantage of the fantastic dining options, too.
#3. Quality of Life. See Number 2 to reiterate this point (ha), but Castle Rock offers something for everyone, including families. For example, check out these upcoming events:
- Daddy Daughter Ball. On February 9th., from 6:30-8:30 p.m., the Douglas County Events Center will be transformed into a “Vintage Hollywood.” Daddies and daughters of all ages are invited to dance the night away, enjoy refreshments, and take professional photos. Make some memories that will last a lifetime. Tickets are still available!
- Remember that the Rink at the Rock is open for the winter season (through Feb 18th). Get your skate on, sign up for lessons, or just come by to laugh at—we mean, to support—your pals.
#4. Location, location, location. Castle Rock has some of the best public schools in the state. The town economy is booming and a diverse collection of colleges and universities are closeby. Beautiful custom homes and inviting communities, such as Terrain, are the icing on the cake.
#5. The Great Outdoors. No need to spend all your time in Rocky Mountain National Park, you know. There are lots of trails, parks, and playgrounds right here. Here are some ideas to check out now:
- Spend a day with your best friend—the furry one. Join your Castle Rock neighbors for a fun dog sledding excursion! The event is from 8:30 a.m. (meet at the Miller Activity Center) to 5:00 p.m., with equipment, transportation, and guide included. Click here for more info.
- Skip the driving and enjoy a Day Ski Trip to Echo Mountain on February 9th. Even if you don’t ski, you can take advantage of the tubing slope that is open this season! The fun begins at 7:00 a.m.—meet at the Miller Activity Center.
Whether you stay indoors or out, whether you grab a bite with friends or spend a day shopping with family, you are guaranteed to enjoy Castle Rock. You’ll love it as much as we do.
Terrain residents have declared how much we love Castle Rock before. We’re not kidding. The city is our home, and our communities are closely connected.
