When you live here, it's easy to understand why Terrain was voted Community of the Year. Residents of Terrain enjoy nearly 600-acres of open space, an onsite elementary school, several large parks, an award-winning clubhouse and swimming pool, a large network of trails connecting our entire community, and year-round community events. Everything we need for our ideal lifestyle – a true Colorado lifestyle – is right outside our front door. Learn more about Terrain's amenities by expanding the sections below.
Almost 600 acres will be dedicated to open
space and/or public land uses - that's nearly
50% of Terrain! This will make Terrain a
truly wonderful place to get out and explore.
We want Terrain to celebrate the sense of outdoor
adventure that has drawn so many people to Colorado.
We’re planning to enhance Terrain’s trail network with
a variety of experiences that take advantage of
Terrain’s unique geology, flora, fauna and history.
Children and grownups will be encouraged to explore a
‘story’ trail that leads to hidden vistas, historic sites
and places to observe wildlife.
Sage Canyon Elementary is located along the Wild
Oak Trail, so kids from all over Terrain will have an
easy walk or bike ride. Sage Canyon uses a
Project-Based Learning curriculum, which has
proven to expand students’ creativity, analytical
thinking, problem-solving and collaborative skills.
Thanks to the Town of Castle Rock, Terrain now
includes a fantastic municipal park with a tennis
court, a picnic pavilion, playgrounds and a
playfield. Wrangler Park is located along the new
bike trail that will connect neighborhoods in
Terrain to the regional trail systems in the nearby
Hidden Mesa and Gateway Mesa open spaces.
The award-winning Terrain Swim Club is reserved
just for Terrain residents. Situated on one of the best
spots in the whole community, it’s convenient to all
the villages of Terrain. The Swim Club includes an
indoor gathering space that opens onto the pool and
deck area. No wonder the Swim Club, named Best
Clubhouse by the Homebuilders Association of
Metro Denver, has become a favorite summer
hangout.
Stretching your legs is especially
important when you have four of them.
So we’ve left room for a park where
your furry friend can run free and
leash-less.
Ravenwood Park will feature two acres of space to play, relax,
gather and enjoy the great outdoors.
An 8-foot-wide paved trail will wind its way through
the diverse landforms, rugged outcroppings and
native vegetation of Wild Oak. And along the trail,
explorers will discover historic landmarks such as the
1930s-era Civilian Conservation Corps campsite.
New trails are continually being added as Terrain
welcomes new residents.
