Serving more than 60,000 students, it’s the third-largest district in the state, and the only district with over 30,000 students to earn the highest accreditation rating from Colorado’s Department of Education.

Everything about Sage Canyon Elementary is designed to encourage a life-long love of learning. Their Project Based Learning curriculum allows students to learn fundamental concepts through an exploration of real-world problems and challenges. A combination of self-directed and cooperative activities inspires students to want to learn more, an attitude that is far more likely to result in long term retention than traditional book-centered learning. Mesa Middle School is a community focused middle school with an academic program rigorous enough to have earned its designation as an International Baccalaureate recognized school. Mesa offers students an expanded curriculum in computer sciences, fine arts, languages and communications designed to spark students’ interest in deeper exploration. In addition to academics, 80% of Mesa’s students participate in extracurricular sports and clubs. Mesa Middle School is less than a 5-minute drive for Terrain families.
Douglas County High School consistently achieves some of the highest assessment scores in the nation. In 2015, the school ranked better than 83.1 percent of high schools in Colorado. Contributing to student success is the combination of a strong focus on the development of creative and critical thinking skills along with academic standards rigorous enough to earn its designation as an an International Baccalaureate recognized school.
